LB Landscaping Solutions LLC was founded in 2023 by Malia Leilehua Kipapa and Isaac Mejia Barahona. Leilehua brings a strong background in environmental studies, botany, and cultural resource management, while Barahona contributes over 14 years of hands-on experience in farming and land management, plus over 8 years of landscaping experience. Together, they established a company committed to enhancing the beauty and functionality of residential and commercial properties in Kailua-Kona through high-quality landscaping services grounded in hard work, integrity, and environmental sustainability.
The name “LB” represents their partnership and shared vision, “L” for Leilehua and “B” for Barahona. It reflects not only their collaboration, but also their dedication to delivering dependable service and meaningful results.

“L” – Leilehua
Malia Kipapa owner of LB Landscaping Solutions LLC. Born and raised on Hawaiian homestead lands in Keaukaha on Hawaiʻi Island, she holds a BS in Environmental Studies from Chaminade University of Honolulu and an MS in Botany from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. With over 15 years of experience serving local and Native Hawaiian communities across the pae ʻāina, and 12 years managing contracts and operations for a major Native Hawaiian-serving trust, Malia is dedicated to restoring healthy native ecosystems. She is passionate about incorporating native Hawaiian plants, xeriscaping, and sustainable landscaping practices into modern commercial spaces throughout Hawaiʻi.
“B” - Barahona
Isaac Mejia Barahona co-owner of LB Landscaping Solutions LLC, descends from Guatemala, with both Spanish and Mayan descent he comes from a background of hard working farmers and ranchers. With over 14 years of field experience with plants, landscapes, and people he understands the importance of quality work and the value of time. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his foreman and management experience. His forward insight into the current trends and proven experience in the essentials of the operations ensures that LB offers unique services so that LB stays at the forefront of the landscaping industry in Kona. It is an honor and a dream come true to finally start his own business serving the community of
Kailua-Kona.
